I just watched the Timothée Chalamet movie, Marty Supreme. It’s about a ping pong player with the insatiable desire to become the best in the world.
While I watched the movie, I felt my dark energy of obsession call: the huge engine in my belly that needs to be fed. For Marty, and for me, it demands greatness.
The movie shows the dark side of that greatness - Marty has no empathy, burns bridges, takes massive risks, etc. My gut reaction? I don't want that! But I still feel the pull, and it’s not going away. So, I figure, I must channel it in the correct way by building discernment, judgment and wisdom.

And then there's dark energy #2 - charisma. Marty is incredibly good at making people do things for him - whether it's for love, lust, fun, or another human urge. Marty uses their human nature to his advantage, to hustle to where he needs to go. It tears the people around him apart. But it also creates some incredible things. It’s a movie, but I see this play out in life all the time. Making people feel is one of the most powerful (and dangerous) skills known to humankind. Master charisma, and you don't need anything else (maybe some good clothes) to get into any room you want.
Now, this is a skill I'm actively developing. And honestly? I think it might become my best one. Of course I want to use it for good - this isn't a villain origin story. Guardrails again.

In case you’re curious, Marty Supreme is a rock solid 7.7/10. Well shot, great acting.
If you’re like me, born with a bit of Dark Energy - you’ll leave the theatre with a taste of the dark, twisted beauty that is obsession. She's a Pandora's box. Not everybody has it, but some do. And if you're one of them, you need to get to know it.
